  • Praxis CORE Tips
    Many teacher preparation programs require all students to take the Praxis I Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST). This test measures basic skills in reading, writing and math. Taking this test in the fall of your sophomore year could help streamline the transfer process. Please check with your schools of interest for more information.

    Mary Miller Library Resources to help you study

    1. PPST study books are available in the Mary Miller Library. They are on reserve under "Introduction to Education."

    2. Use the following instructions to access two PPST sample tests on the Mary Miller Library website:
    -On the library website click on the Reference link
    -Click on the Learning Express Library link
    -Register as a new user (use your HC username and password unless that username is already taken)
    -Click the Occupational Learning Tests link on the left side of the page
    -Locate the Teaching tab. Beneath it you will see the link for Praxis I- Pre-Professional Skills Test. There are two sample tests.
