Set at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp (RMMC), nestled at 9,600 ft on the back side of Pikes Peak. This course offers an incredible wilderness experience for all skill levels, from first-time backcountry adventurers to seasoned hikers and climbers.

We will hike 3 different mountain peaks (all over 10,000 ft), as well as rock climb/rappel, and go on a 2-day backcountry backpacking trip. You will learn how to pack for a multi day backpacking trip as well as learn how to read a topographic map. You will also learn techniques to thrive in high elevation environments.

This course is open to everyone. No prior backpacking, rock climbing, or hiking experience is necessary. As far as fitness goes: a willingness to challenge yourself and a baseline fitness level to hike on uneven, high-elevation terrain while carrying a pack.

All equipment: backpack, sleeping mat, cooking pots, and rock climbing gear are provided.
