This course explores social diversity, including race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, social class, religion, age groups/generations and ableism, from macro and micro perspectives. It examines the influences of history, social structure and social construction on the social statuses of different groups in society, and capacities of human agency and mobilization in transforming the human condition. A Cultural Competence general education course.
