A study of mathematical functions and models. Reviews linear, exponential, power, polynomial, rational and periodic functions. Focuses on understanding and communicating the relationship between verbal descriptions, formulas, tables and graphs. Emphasizes problem solving and application rather than the symbol manipulation that may be required in higher level math courses. A calculator is required. Prerequisite: MaSc 090 or two years of high school algebra and ACT Math score of 18 or higher, SAT Math of 500 or higher, or ACCUPLACER Next Gen Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics (QRAS) of 263 or higher.
